Large Diameter Hymax Update

Hymax Update:

New 18” and 20” Sizes have been added to better meet the needs of the total market. The large diameter Hymax® coupling line has been expanded to allow for several metric pipe sizes that were previously unmet in the market. This change resulted in two new couplings and a range modification of two other coupling sizes making the 18” and 20” sizes the most complete wide range product available to the market.

Note: The Large Diameter brochure is currently being updated to remove part number 2000-2360-232 which is now obsolete.

Look for our new Versa-Max Series 3100 Repair Clamp and Coupling, a product that not only couples and transitions, but works as a clamp with built in deflectional capabilities. Good for your Water and Wastewater Repair requirements and will be available in sizes from 3 to 12 inches in diameter. In most cases, one size will fit all in a nominal diameter range. NEW AWWA STANDARD C230-11 PUBLISHED JUNE 1 2011

American Water Works Association published the new AWWA Standard for Stainless-Steel Full-Encirclement Repair

and Service Connection Clamps – ANSI/AWWA C230-11 – EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2011.

First edition approved by AWWA Board of Directors January 23, 2011.

Approved by American National Standards Institute March 30, 2011.

Product Update on Large Diameter Centering Pins.

The centering pins on all Hymax Couplings from 14” to 24” in diameter are now equipped with a standard type 304 stainless steel centering pin. The centering pins are provided to prevent coupling movement or drift across the pipe end when a pressure differential across the coupling is created by maximum transition of the gasketing system.

Product Update on Coating for All Hymax, Hyjoint, and Dismantling Joint Products

The Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating, standard on the all Hymax Products including couplings, flanged adapters, dismantling joints and the Hyjoint product line has continually improved since the current coating was introduced 3 years ago. Test results from routine cathodic disbondment testing of the epoxy coating on various components in the product line continue to satisfy industry requirements for superior coating quality.

Product Update on Nuts, Bolts and Washers on Hymax and EZ-MAX Plus Products

Nuts, bolts and washers on all Hymax and EZ-MAX Plus Products are pre-lubricated with a dry anti-seize or anti-galling lubricating. The use of additional wet lubricants on any product containing the dry lube system will void the warranty of the product. So remember, do not lubricate the nuts, bolts or washers.
